Post Glitterdome : Debut of Black Tassel Boolesque

Fabulous. Miss Keri and Andy of Bunny Made hosted us in the beginning of the day, allowing us to pull details together before hitting the venue (and made mourna's grinding outfit fabulous, and are in the process of revamping mine!). Javier and Mighty Mike Saga rocked the house (which was wonderful and cruel, considering we spent much of the evening getting ready). Umbris went above and beyond with his VJing, the staff was very helpful during the entire process.... but the crowd made it all come together. SO much love. I feel truly blessed to have such a supportive, wonderful freaky family. Even people who were unable to make the event made sure to promote it. We had 150 goths through the door!! We're going to make this a twice a year-ish event. <3>

Hosting is always easier the third time around. We didn't get a raffle or games together, but considering it was a club night and not a dedicated burlesque show, I don't know how much time I want to take away from the dance floor.

Things learned from the first Glitterdome

  • Make sure you have time to practice a duo, especially when it involves grinding wheels.
  • Test the grinding wheels, and make sure they produce lots of sparks BEFORE you're onstage. >_<
  • Add acrylic into liquid latex for greater peels.
  • Raffle
  • Make sure to brief kitten before throwing them into the mix
  • make sure Tip bowl is always present after routines
I can't wait to perform again, with a little more polish and little more glitter. I didn't have time to fly a hawk in between sets, so I've got to figure out how to set a hawk without it being flammable (gelatin?) for the next Glitterdome. We're seeking other venues in other cities, it's only fair that the world get to see our post apocalyptic win.

While coming down from the glitterdome high, we were offered an opportunity to perform at the pre party for Otacon! Elegant. Gothic. Lolita. *squee*
